in love, in faith and in purity.”

Group/Accountability/Worship/Fellowship Time
Our goal is that our students develop a
life-long commitment to independent spiritual growth. To do this, we try to design programs
which encourage students to maintain their spiritual growth by focusing on Seven Spiritual
Principles (or
disciplines).
Description
of Events:
a.
Worship Time: Students will be led
in a time of heartfelt devotion and worship through music, drama, and
video.
b.
Small Group Time: Students will divide into small groups
divided by grade and gender to discuss the monthly topic. These are led by their small group
leaders who are not just "Sunday School Teachers." These adults
invest in these students' lives and encourage discussion rather than
instruction.
c.
Accountability Time: Every week, we will encourage students to continue to build
their relationship with Christ through personal Spiritual Disciplines—Bible
reading, Prayer, Journaling
d.
Fellowship Time: Every week, we will
have a time for fellowship as believers by enjoying a meal together.
The idea behind this concept is:
Small group:
·
Small groups will be
divided by age/grade and gender.
This way we can isolate and discuss particular age appropriate
issues that are relevant to students’ lives.
·
Students will meet in
the same group every week.
·
Students will meet
with the same adult sponsor every week (ideally for their whole middle
school and high school career).
Accountability time:
·
Leader can spend time with smaller amount of students who are same
gender, getting to know them on a more personal basis.
·
Leader can encourage students to continue to build their relationship
with Christ through personal Spiritual Disciplines—Bible reading, Prayer,
Journaling.
