Purpose
The
Worship Team is responsible for worship service planning, worship leading,
music selection and copying, special music, copyright accounting, choir,
drama, communion supplies, and baptism supplies. The team is also
responsible for organizing all worship programs and analyzing worship
service effectiveness.
Objective
Provide
an atmosphere of worship that allows everyone to offer praise and worship
to God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Programs
in Progress
Dual Worship Services – We continue to provide a
two-service format, with worship services at 9:30am and 11:00am. This is
the most judicious use of our Worship team assets and supports the vision
of the HCC leadership.
Worship Teams – We have two (2) Worship Teams that serve on an
every-other-Sunday rotation, and play for both services on their respective
Sundays. There is still a need for brothers and sisters that desire to
share their talents in praising the Lord either through music or audio/visual
support.
Music Director – We moved to hire a music director this past
year. Kirk Durbin provided us with wonderful music, choir presentations and
special music. We were very sad that he chose to leave HCC after only six
months to pursue further education. We are committed to re-filling this
position and making it a full time Music/Worship minister staff position.
Youth Music Ministry/Youth Sunday – We have recently started a
youth music ministry, providing instruction in playing an instrument or singing,
the purpose of growing individuals to join one of the HCC praise teams.
Along with music instruction, they also receive guidance in praise team
operations, duties, and responsibilities.
We continue to desire that our youth
lead/participate in the worship during every fifth Sunday. This allows us
to see some of the ways our youth praise the Lord and join them in their
worship.
Special Music – We are asking anyone who would like to share
their talents to please sign up to do special music. We would like for that
to be an integral part of our worship service.
CCLI/VCLI Copyright Accounting – We have both video and music
copyright license to include Preschool coverage.
Alabama State Christian Convention – A composite praise team
provided the music for the state convention. It was very well received.
Equipment
Upgrade – The
Worship ministry is currently researching a new computer for the sanctuary.
The upgrade is required in order to run worship/music software to enhance
our worship service.
