Do you know Pauline Hopkinson? She is quite
amazing. She has always wanted to give back to the community in which she
grew up. She has started collecting items to ship to a school that serves a
poor neighborhood in her home country of Guiana.
The Missions Ministry Team has partnered with her to send bibles and school
supplies. Thank you, Pauline, for including us in your dream to reach the
lost. The first two barrels were shipped the last weekend of September and
will take several months to arrive.
Janice Payne is unselfishly “taking great pain” to
send our old Christian education materials to Jamaica. There is a missionary
there the Payne’s have been acquainted with for many years. This Christian
church serves the poorest people on the island, but this pastor’s love for
these people is heartwarming.
At the direction of the Missions Ministry Team, our food
pantry was sorted, packed, and shipped to the Katrina Disaster Relief
Efforts. In addition, many clothing items were dropped off so they were
sorted by size and gender, boxed and marked appropriately then shipped with
the food. Those working on that effort were Teri Wilson, Gretchen,
Bob, and Andrew Csikos, Rita Ferguson, Edber Fonnegra, Raul
and Julie Muytoy, Jessie Harris, Michelle and Sydney Roberts. Michael Davidson provided us with
the many boxes needed and praise be to God for our HCC family who once
again stepped up to the plate providing many of the items sent. Of course
we have to mention our Boy Scouts,
whose food drive every year stocks our food pantry.
