6.2 Sightings
Sighting #1
We have spotted Carla Jungen using her Love for reading
in ministry. This mother of 2 young children takes her quiet time on Sunday
afternoon to serve others. She has been visiting a local nursing home
reading to their residents. We thank Carla for finding a creative way to
serve others while fulfilling a favorite pastime.
Sighting #2
HCC’s JOY Group has been
sighted for their efforts in support of Hurricane Katrina. Over $1500, including profits from
cookbook sales and individual cash gifts, was donated to assists victims.
This JOY Group, faithfully led by Jim Snell, Sr. also
participates in an ongoing mission with the Hospitality House
Foundation. The House serves
patients’ family members from all hospitals in Huntsville and also offers support to
outpatients who are taking day treatments.
The House provides a “home away from home” with a caring atmosphere,
for out-of-town relatives of patients.
The JOY Group provides needed staples and supplies on a monthly
basis, ranging from bleach to dried and canned goods (soups, etc.)

The Missions Ministry Team
is pleased to announce members of our youth team that will be traveling to South Dakota to
serve on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Please keep the following persons in

Opportunity #2
A mission trip to
Salvatierra Mexico
is planned for Jan 21st -28th 2006. People planning to go will need to
provide their own funding for transportation, lodging, and meals. The total number of people should not
exceed 10. Missions will supply
$2000.00 for building materials. The
plan is to stucco the church in Salvatierra and to make preparation for a
second story on this building. We will need an Evangelism leader for the
trip. Michael Davidson is our
Team Leader for this trip; please contact him to learn more.
Opportunity
#3
Edber Fonnegra will head the
effort to coordinate a mission trip for Katrina relief during Spring break
2006. We are planning to work through Crossroads, Journey Christian Church,
or Ides. So stayed tuned as details
develop for this mission.
