6.2 Sightings

New
Years Greetings from your Missions Ministry Team.
We
pray that you had a Joyous Christmas Holiday with God’s blessings in
abundance. Hopefully everyone received their Special Edition Newsletter and
enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it. We do need to make
one correction, the church website is www.huntsvillechristian.org
We encourage you to visit this website often for missions updates and to see
pictures from our trips. Just click on “Ministries” and then “Missions
Ministry” under the Ministry Teams column to navigate through our page.
Some of the 6.2 sighting articles are there, too. Also, please visit the Missions bulletin
board in the southwest hall. You will see newsletters from the various
groups HCC supports, as well as many other items. Now for our sightings:
Sighting #1 Kate Winkler has done it again. She
had made 10 beautiful crotched afghans to be given to our older citizens.
Through Julie Muytoy, Kate heard the clients of CASA were especially
worried about warmth this year with the rising cost of gas and CASA was
worried about their annual Christmas distribution due to budget cuts. The
decision was obvious. Thank you,
Kate, for helping CASA clients have a merrier and warmer Christmas.
Sighting #2 YOU, our HCC family. Thank you for
supporting the various fundraisers that the youth have hosted to raise
funds for their Mission trip. So far you
have helped us to raise for the group: $735 from the calendar fundraiser,
$130 from McRae’s tickets, $464 from the Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale,
and $319 from the childcare for Christmas Shoppers.
Sighting #3 YOU, Our HCC family. Your response
to the Emergency Christmas need for CASA (Care and Assurance System
for the Aging and Homebound of Madison County) was very nice. We
were able to supply 3 boxes of items from their Christmas Wish List.
Announcement:
On
Saturday, January 21st, the Youth Mission Team will be
sponsoring a Chili / Soup Supper and Talent Show. We pray that everyone
will have the opportunity to come join us for this fun / talent filled
evening. Childcare will be available for infant through 3 year olds and we
will be accepting donations for our trip. Mark your calendars now for an
evening of delightful entertainment for the entire family!
